Aesthetic Style

I’m not sure i I talked before about what I want this thing to actually look like. I’m hoping for a watercolour, brushy semi-traditional Japanese type of style, more illustration than graphic for the backgrounds and possibly cleaner for the symbols/bubbles. This is for a few reasons:

1. Most of the Japanese learning apps are very plain and boring in styles, with everything square and maybe a random chibi character chucked in for what seems like no point; this style may help the game stand out from its ‘peers’ and show it has something different to offer

2. It gives the game a clear style and persona, and helps keep the levels interesting

3. It mildly ties back to Japan in an unobtrusive way

4. Watery backgrounds will help the main game points stand out.
